Purpose of Position:
- Schedule all DE courses.
- Work closely with the academic deans to ensure the quality of dual enrollment (DE) courses is maintained.
- Track and ensure compliance with VCCS Dual Enrollment Quality Standards and SACSCOC Principles/Standards.
- Provides leadership in planning, developing, implementing, managing, supervising and evaluation dual enrollment with the local school divisions, academic deans and chief academic officer.
- Supervises, coordinates and refines dual enrollment policies, procedures, and processes to ensure for an effective and efficient dual enrollment program.
- Coordinate registration, testing, billing, scheduling, and textbooks with high schools.
- Supervise college career coaches that assist with dual enrollment.
- Coordinate and provide new student admissions advising and ensure students are placed in appropriate courses to earn high school credit as well as credits toward their college degree.
- Manage all formal agreements with school divisions.
- Coordinate academic support services for dual enrolled students.
- Develop semester and annual reports for DE program.
- Provide professional development opportunities for dual enrollment faculty.
- Recruit, hire, and evaluate adjunct faculty that meet credentialing requirements set forth by SACSCOC.
- Prepare adjunct faculty workload report for payroll.
- Work with secondary administrators to identify potential areas of programmatic growth.
- Plan, coordinate, and host engaging campus events for local school divisions to promote college awareness, academic opportunities, and campus life that supports student recruitment and community outreach efforts.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Master’s Degree in counseling, educational administration, or another related field.
- Knowledge of community college programs and advisement.
- Knowledge of secondary curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff across diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to adjust to change, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks as needed.
