Job Description
Tennessee State University College of Engineering invites applications for the position of Director of Finance Services.
The Director of Finance Services works under the direction of Dean, College of Engineering. The College has five Department and Tiger Research Institute. The college currently provides accredited six (6) BS degrees, four (4) graduate degree and one (1) PhD degree in strategic and emerging disciplines for research and working professionals. The college currently has funded grants with the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, US Department of Energy, US Department of Defense, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, US Department of Transportation, US Department of Homeland Security, NASA, Amazon, Google, Apple, Boeing, HCA, IBM, General Motors, Army Corps of Engineers, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Proctor and Gamble, Turner Construction, Honda, Gresham Smith, Southern Company, Tennessee Valley Authorities, etc.

Responsibilities and activities for this position will include:
Finance Service
- Establish budget of College of Engineering
- Monitoring spending of College of Engineering Grants/Contracts
- Manage College of Engineering foundation accounts and marketplace funds
- Track grant spending
Development Associate
- Establish a process for inquiry/interest
- Support community relations & development with annual fundraising events
- Research event sponsors and maintain confidential donor information
- Increase Corporate Partnerships
- Increase Scholarships for Students
- Increase revenue generation through corporate engagement to support College operations and additional hires
- Support raising of funds for new engineering buildings
- Support obtaining equipment or equipment donations for academic experiences and research experiences
Minimum Qualifications
MS degree plus 3 years’ working experience in related area.
Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree and relevant experience in MBA, finance and related area. Applicants with experience in budget and finance administration with a bachelor’s degree in related field are encouraged to apply.
