Job Summary
The Research Associate will lead the analysis of the SPHEREx cosmological large-scale structure survey. They will lead the development of power spectrum and bispectrum estimator, and validate the overall methodology on numerical simulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop power spectrum and bispectrum estimators and validate their performance, first in simulations and then on the real data.
- Simulate the effects of known systematic errors on these estimators.
- Write scientific publications on this work.
- Analyze the SPHEREx galaxy redshift survey for constraints on cosmological parameters, and report on the results and the statistical and systematic errors in publications.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD in physics, astronomy or astrophysics with an extensive post-PhD background in cosmological analysis in large-scale structure surveys.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary technical and scientific teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in statistical analysis methods.
- Familiarity with the formats and instrumental properties of the SPHEREx data products.
- Background in computational methods and numerical analyses.
