** This position is open exclusively to current Students at Owens Community College who are eligible for Federal Work-Study.

- Library Assistants have multiple tasks to support all patrons with their needs and all Librarians with daily tasks and larger projects.
- Must be able to operate a computer, including basic keyboarding skills and familiarity with basic internet browser operation.
- Some light lifting is required.
- Excellent customer services skills needed as evidenced by previous experience in a paid or volunteer service capacity.
- Answer general questions and provide information.
- Check materials in and out for library users.
- Greet visitors.
- Process incoming and outgoing OhioLINK materials.
- Shelve materials in all areas of the library.
- Answer telephones.
- Read shelves periodically to maintain order.
- Assist Librarian with projects and other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to operate a computer, including basic keyboarding skills and familiarity with basic Internet browser operation.
- Must be able to sort classification numbers by combination of letters, whole numbers, and decimal numbers.
- Must be empathetic with library users.
- Must have appreciation for importance of details to overall organization.
