The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program offers doctoral students the opportunity to obtain
the prestigious Presidential Research Fellow Award. This award covers mandatory tuition and fees for the DNP program and includes a Research Assistantship requiring 20 hours per week, with a monthly salary of $2,400 ($28,800/year). The award is available for the entire duration of the program, contingent upon maintaining professional and academic performance standards, including a minimum GPA of 3.25. To remain eligible, students must be enrolled full-time, taking at least nine semester credit hours each term. . Student must be willing to work 20 hours per week starting Fall 2025. The student will be working on the following areas:

- Research Support: Conduct literature reviews, develop interview schedules, and assist with lab or fieldwork as needed.
- Data Management: Enter, code, verify, and maintain accurate records of data and interviews, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Communication & Coordination: Prepare interview questions, contact participants, manage project-related emails, and attend meetings and seminars.
- Reporting & Documentation: Summarize interviews and project results, prepare reports, presentations, and publications, and assist with progress tracking.
- Logistics & Administration: Acquire supplies, maintain equipment, support workshops and training sessions, and perform other project-related duties as assigned.
Student must also be willing to travel to Edinburg and Harlingen locations.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Full time student admitted in the Doctor in Nursing Practice program (DNP).
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
